Թ recently turned its galleries into a showcase of young talent, welcoming student artists from more than 30 area high schools for juried exhibitions at Florissant Valley and Meramec.
Florissant Valley Hosts Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition
The Թ-Florissant Valley art department hosted its annual juried high school student art exhibition and open house, culminating in a closing reception on Feb. 19. The event marked the inaugural exhibition for the new Florissant Valley Contemporary Art Gallery space, located on the second floor of the Administration and Instructional Support building.
The exhibition was curated by Michael Quintero, general fine arts program coordinator, and juried by Florissant Valley art faculty. It featured 58 works created by 38 students representing 11 local high schools. During the reception, four Թ art majors led visitors on a tour of the Arts and Communications building.
“This exhibition is such great way to celebrate the accomplishments of the teachers, students, and the parents whose love and support make it all possible,” said Quintero.
Each winner received an Թ tuition voucher for three credits and an art supply package.

Meramec Hosts Bi-annual Juried High School Art Exhibition
At Թ–Meramec, the 2026 biannual juried high school exhibition opened Feb. 26 at the Meramec Gallery of Contemporary Art and will remain on view through March 26.
Curated by Professor Jim Ibur and juried by new faculty member Aleta Lanier, the exhibition celebrates student artists from 20 participating high schools. The opening reception welcomed more than 100 attendees.
“The show is extraordinarily beautiful, highly accomplished, and gives me great hope for future students at the college level next year,” said Ibur. “Hopefully, many will be coming to Meramec!”
Winners of the first-, second- and third-place prizes received gift cards to the Թ-Meramec bookstore.

In addition to honoring emerging artists, the two high school exhibitions also highlighted campus facilities and faculty, offering prospective students and their parents a firsthand look at the value of Թ’s art programs.
