Թ Hosts Health Care Open Houses for the Community

Թ will host three open houses in June to give the community an up-close look at its health care programs, facilities and student support services. Health care professionals remain one of the St. Louis region’s largest workforce needs.
At Թ, students train for stable, well-paying careers that allow them to make a difference in people’s lives. The College offers 23 health care programs designed to help students build skills and enter the workforce quickly.
The Թ Health Care Open Houses are:
- Saturday, June 6: Florissant Valley Nursing and Health Science Center from noon to 2 p.m.
- Monday, June 8: Forest Park Nursing and Health Science Center from 4 to 6 p.m.
- Friday, June 12: Wildwood Health Sciences from 1 to 3 p.m.
In its , the Missouri Hospital Association noted that the St. Louis region had a 6.8% vacancy rate in hospital medical positions. Of the 10 careers with the highest vacancy rates in the area, Թ offers programs for six: MRI technologist, medical laboratory technician, CT technologist, surgical technician, licensed practical nurse and respiratory therapist.
Թ is a major producer of health care workers in the St. Louis region. The College’s two-year offerings include nursing, dental hygiene, radiologic technology, paramedic technology and physical therapist assistant. Թ also offers several certificates of proficiency, and in May, the College celebrated its first class of students who earned a bachelor’s degree in respiratory care.
Visitors will explore programs that prepare students for high-demand jobs in health care. They will tour labs, meet faculty and connect with College departments to learn more about student support services, campus resources and program options.
